White Peppercorn Mako Capers

Preparation:

Wash steaks well. Pat dry and place on medium platter. Combine red wine, lemon juice, garlic, and olive oil. Pour over fish steaks, coating each well. Marinate for 1-2 hours in refrigerator. Sprinkle crushed peppercorns on a cutting board or covered surface. Coat both sides of each steak with peppercorns. Place steaks on a broiler pan and broil for 8 minutes. Sprinkle with capers and broil for 2-3 minutes longer, or until fish is done in center. Serve hot.

This hearty healthy seafood version of steak au poivre is cooked up with capers and red wine for a rich but healthy dish. Just add steamed vegetables and whole grain basmati rice for a fast, exotic meal.
